Yesterday I delivered 5 sculptures to Carson Art Gallery in Dallas. They have an 11,000 square foot gallery and have been in business for 26 years. I met Diane Carson at the Main St. Arts Festival this past weekend. Diane and her team will be entertaining 200 Interior Decorators who specialize in hotel properties on Thursday night. Coincidentally, the theme for the event is fashion!

The final day of the Main St. Festival is today. Yesterday saw the crowds grow and at several points during the day there was a river of people moving together in front of my booth. I had to move the sculptures inside the tent for fear of them getting knocked over. The comments about my work have been so positive and inspiring. It was fun to hear people say that they saw my pieces on the news. I have met some wonderful people and overall, this has been a really great event. My favorite quotes from yesterday came from 2 little girls, both about 5 years old. One said emphatically, 'That is just beautiful'. The second said, 'Even the buttons on the back are pretty.'

Today on Main Street there is a little repreive from the sun, a light cloud cover. As long as they don't bring rain, this is good. The crowds are already gathering and when I arrived at 9:40, several people were walking the booths. Exciting news from yesterday is that the Channel 11 News filmed my artwork for their promo pieces about the Festival, my work was shown on the 5, 5:30, 6 and 10 news. Will try to download a clip.

Okay, today I am armed with sunscreen, a wide brim hat, tennis shoes, and band aids. Favorite questions of the day: Thursday-

"Whatdya do with em?"

"Doya cut ya hands a lot?"

Sorry, I am from Texas, I can slang with the best of them.

Finally, the sun has moved enough to be able to take a better picture, and now this looks dark! Anyway, I am sunburned and excited. It has been a great day so far with lots of attention given my way. Looking forward to having a few friends for wine and cheese by the booth tonight and catching up.
The sun is shining bright, the temperature is cool and the Main St. Ft. Worth Arts Festival has officially started! Fresh Bar-B-Q is wafting through the air and I can hear live music in the distance. Unfortunately, I can't yet take a picture of my booth, the sun is so bright that everything comes out white. Later in the day, I will add an update......

Setting Up for Main Street

It is a glorious Texas spring day. The sun is shining, the humidity is low, the trees are green and the birds are singing. No kidding! I am getting set up today for the Main St. Ft. Worth Arts Festival which starts tomorrow and runs through the weekend. Here is a picture of my 'booth' after I have unloaded and before I set up. Stay tuned for the 'after' pictures. I am located at 3rd and Main Street- a fab, fab location right across the street from a performance stage. I am also kitty corner from a Bar-B-Q and Lemonade stall- I won't go hungry or be thirsty!!
